How to Change My Activity Level
This article explains what a physical activity level is and how to change it.
What is my Physical Activity Level?
Your physical activity level (PAL) is the number of calories or points ProTracker Plus estimates you burn based on your lifestyle and daily routine.
Your PAL is used to calculate your calorie or points budget, as well as any calorie or points bonus you may receive through steps or a connected fitness tracker.
ProTracker provides five physical activity levels that members can choose from:
Sedentary - Little or no exercise
Lightly Active - Light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week
Moderately Active - Moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week
Very Active - Hard exercise/sports 6-7 days/week
Extremely Active - Very hard exercise/sports and physical job
We recommend choosing the activity level that best coincides with your daily work/life routine, excluding optional exercise. Exercises outside of your daily work/life routine should be logged as exercise, unless you’re using a connected fitness tracker.
If you are using a fitness tracker with ProTracker Plus, there’s no need to manually log exercise, as your total calorie burn will be used to track your activity. You can read more about that here.
If you have your phone’s steps tracker connected to ProTracker Plus from Apple Health, ProTracker Plus will use your chosen activity level and BMR to determine when you receive exercise credit for those steps.
